Faith - the end (Spoiler Alert)

So, I'm done watching Faith.

It was, ... it IS, unbelievably amzing. Thrilling and unpredictable until the very last scene. The scenary is breathtaking, as is the story, which is also very emotional. Normally I don't really like watching dramas with that many episodes (24), but I was captured right from the start, as by the way, was Choi Young by Yoo EunSoo.
I thought about what this story is really about and I think the title is very fitting, since the theme of the whole thing is faith. Faith and trust, that everything is going to be alright, if you jut believe. They both had to believe that their love would work out. Amittedly Choi Young had a lot to learn in that erea, but he eventually came around and waited for her for a long time. When they met again in the end, I could see in his face, that he was not surprised to see her. He BELIEVED she would come back. And of course, the biggest proof that their faith brought them back together is the fact that her "earnest desire" to see him again combined with her memories of, him opened the gate again.

Now after watching the whole thing, I can stand by my earlier statement.
Faith is the best drama I have watched to date.
It has everything including but not limited to, adventure, romance, fighting, blood, sadness, deaths (cause if nobody dies in such a dangerous world with so much fighting, it's too boring), cuteness, humor, excitement, suspense, and so on and so on.

Since it's late and I have to go to bed, I'll say goodbye for now.

First post (Faith)

Hi everybody,

my name is Elisabeth and I'm from Innsbruck/Tirol/Austria.
I'm a big fan of Asian Dramas and since I learned how to make your own website in school today, I thought I could make one. after some thinking I decided that a blog would better suited for my intentions.
So here I am, telling anybody who's interested my thoughts on the various Asian Dramas I watch.

At the moment I'm watching "Faith - The great doctor" (신의)
The story revolves around
Choi Young (최 영) played by Lee MinHo (이 민호) and
Yoo EunSoo (유 은수) played by Kim Hee Seon (김희선).

Yoo EunSoo is a very skilled surgeon. She started out as a general surgeon but after deciding that it's too much work for too less money, she switched to plastic surgery. One day, while attending a plastic surgery fair, an oddly dressed man carrying a sword kidnaps her and she finds herself in a village in the 14th century.
The oddly dressed man turns out to be Choi Young, General of the Woodalchi, the Kings royal guard and personal bodyguard. He kidnapped her because the Queen, wounded during an attack she and the King including their entourage suffered on their way from Yuang to Goryeo, is lying on her death bed. Since no doctor in the 14th century can heal her wound the King sends Choi Young through a time portal, which they think is the gate to heaven, to the year 2012 so he can find and bring back the heavens doctor.
Yoo EunSoo is succesful in saving the Queens life and she ends up staying in the palace as a royal doctor. The love story that ensues between them brings many problems seeing as she is a woman from 2012, who, in his time is seen as the high Doctor from heaven and he is a, in his words "lowly warrior who knows nothing about politics".

What I like most about this drama is the connection to Koreas real history. In the 14th century, when Korea was still one country and was called Goryeo, there really existed a warrior named Choi Young who was a very brave and is even today very well known for his many victorys and his loyalty towards the King named GongMin and the Queen Indeok. Both also very well known.

Lee MinHo, in my opinion portrays this character very well and considering that he got more than one award for his work on this drama, I'm not the only one who thinks so.

In general, without wanting to give too much away, this drama is, up until now (Episode 19) the best drama I have ever watched. And this says something, I watched a lot of dramas.

Well this is it for now, till later. :)
